Truffled Mushroom With No Hash
Some people may think that being a Keto will limit us from many good cafes and restaurants due to the food that they are serving are not Keto-friendly. Yes, it's because they are not designed for a Keto Cafe/Resto! But it doesn't mean that we have to say goodbye to them forever.

I have a vegetarian friend, and we always go for lunch together. We always go to 'normal' restaurant. And what she did is she just order some food from the menu with no meat or replace it with extra egg, or sometimes she gave the meat to me and in exchange I give her more of my veggies or egg. And she never give me any hassle to choose where to eat because she is very flexible.  I see how beautiful our friendship is - we respect each other. Now, being a Keto, I applied the same flexibility as her. I don't want to be cranky with where to go for lunch or dinner, and just pick a menu that more likely to be Keto-friendly, unless if there's nothing good for me.

One of my favourite place to eat from breakfast till dinner is Common Grounds Coffee & Roastery. Though the names is more to coffee cafe thing, but they also serve main dishes which I love so much. I always love less tasty food, lightly seasoned, and less cooking process. And I also love when the quality of the food is good that worth with the value of the money.

They have so many choice of food that are acceptable for Keto. Most if their salad is superb. Before, I love their Breakfast Burrito, but now I cannot have their taco skin, so I found other alternatives. Today I chose to try their brunch menu (since I came for breakfast) which are : Eggs Anyway, Roast Truffled Mushroom Hash, and their Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad.

The Truffled Mushroom Hash actually comes with hash brown, but I replace it with scramble. So with the 2 poached eggs as per menu, I got another 2 eggs in scramble. You can choose sunny side up or omelette style actually. Wow! What a plate full of eggs! And also it serves with the sauté mushroom with marinated feta cheese. And on top of it they sprinkle truffle oil that makes the smell soo yummy!

For the Eggs Anyway, I forgot to take out the bread - because in the menu photo I didn't see bread. For this menu, your eggs will be served with the other 2 sides from the menu choices such as beef/ham sausages, smoked salmon, french fries, baked beans, avocado-feta mash, sauté mushroom, mexican rice, hash brown, and beef bacon. I choose avocado-feta mash and sauté mushroom for my potassium source.

The Grilled Ceasar Salad served with delicious grilled chicken meat, slices of beef bacon, and poached egg on top of their fresh romaine lettuce and cherry tomatoes, sprinkled with crispy cheese flake as well.

Btw, I love the poached eggs half boiled. Normally I don't like runny eggs but since I know their egg quality is good (no foul smell whatsoever) so I can eat them! You can see in the photo they have red-orange yolk. I love to add extra egg in my daily meal, especially the yolk, because I think that's the easiest source of fat that I can eat everyday.

There are still many of their food that is Ketogenic-friendly (with or without adjustment). They serve steak as well. Next time maybe I will try to order the other menu and blog it. So far I love this place so much because they have menus that can be adjusted and accepted for Ketogenic lifestyle.

For the coffee, since they are actually a coffee shop, unfortunately they don't have liquid whipped cream or coconut milk or almond milk. So I stick to the black coffee only.
